While Siem Reap is synonymous with Angkor Wat, there’s plenty more to the compact city. At night, it springs to life with places to eat and drink. Here’s our guide to Siem Reap restaurants and bars.

Old Market Siem Reap
Old Market Siem Reap

In Siem Reap city centre, a range of restaurants and boutiques line the riverside, with the heart of the action mainly centred around the Old Market and Pub Street areas. After two years of being in the dark, life is starting to spring back into notorious Pub Street, which traditionally after dusk floods full of bucket-swigging backpackers until dawn.

Cocktail bars, dive bars, wine bars, pizza joints, curry houses and everything in between can be found in the at-times disorientating network of lanes that sit off Pub Street.

Long’s Bar is nestled among a lane of shops in Duong Hem Street and specialises in Cambodian-inspired cocktails. If you’re into craft beer, then head to Siem Reap Brewpub. The Keys by Tomaka is a relatively new addition to Siem Reap. It specialises in cocktails and serves food at the poolside garden.

It’s worth noting a few businesses have relocated to the other side of the river in search of cheaper rents during the coronavirus crisis. Iconic cocktail bar Miss Wong and stalwart Laundry Bar, for example, are now located on Street 26.

In terms of restaurants,Luu Meng’s  Malis is a must if you’re looking for upmarket contemporary Cambodian cuisine. Elsewhere, WILD is a creative cocktail bar and eatery in a tropical garden setting. Mahob serves fantastic Cambodian food from a traditional wooden house, while Sister Srey Cafe is a great spot to grab some lunch.

The great thing is, this is just scratching the surface and there are plenty more Siem Reap bars and restaurants to discover during your time in the city. You can also find many more things to do in Siem Reap on our Cambodia map.
