CamTESOL is the leading regional conference for English language teaching

The 19th edition of the annual CamTESOL conference on English language teaching takes place under the theme of ‘Our next normal: Resilience Building and Future-Ready ELT’.

Since its inception in 2005, CamTESOL has become Asia-Pacific’s leading development conference for professionals in the field of English language teaching and related issues. Annually, it attracts an audience of 1,700 attending from more than 50 countries.

CamTESOL 2023 will see a return to the in-person event after two years of online activities. Building on CamTESOL 2022, this year’s outing features plenary panel discussions on emerging best practices in teaching and learning, future-ready skills, wellbeing topics, and industry trends in the post-pandemic era and beyond.

These will be led by a series of local and international experts, world-renowned researchers and innovators, educational influencers, and policymakers. These include Rod Ellis, a Research Professor in the School of Education, Curtin University in Perth Australia; Randi Reppen, Professor Emerita of Applied Linguistics and TESL at Northern Arizona University; and Jeremy Bowell, who has been working in the English language teaching field for more than 20 years.

Panel discussions at CamTESOL 2023 highlight the effects of the pandemic in transforming traditional classroom in the discussion, ‘Online and Transnational Delivery of English Language Teaching – Global Views and Perspectives for Being Future Ready’. While another panel will explore how the pandemic has altered classroom teaching. As digital education rises the panellists will discuss how self-assessment should be conducted and how to identify skill gaps.
