History of the Wat

Originally constructed in 1443, the main complex houses what is believed to be an eyebrow hair of Buddha and an inscription written in Pali. Ounalom comes from the Khmer for hair (lom) and curl (unna)

Although generally not on the traditional tourist trail, if you can find the time to visit the maze-like wat it can be an interesting and rewarding experience with some great photo opportunities inside.
